The Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, singled out as one of the nation's "extraordinary and visionary" chambers, is set to be named Thursday by the organization's national group as the best medium regional chamber.
The Utah chamber's executive director, Patricia Dark, along with board Chair Silvia Norman, will receive the award during the annual convention of U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Denver.
In addition to the group award, Dark was named the regional director of the year.
National Chamber President David Lizárraga noted that the award pays tribute "to the unparalleled achievements and innovations that have significantly empowered the U.S. Hispanic community, the nation's largest and fastest-growing minority group."
Said Dark: "We are dedicated to strengthening our network of businesses and entrepreneurs" with the goal of expanding "economic-development opportunities and ... [promoting] trade in Utah."
