BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. -- The Summit County Chamber of Commerce has laid off its three employees because of a big drop in membership and a $49,000 loss this year.
But business leaders said the chamber isn't closing. Chamber president Rob Waterman said the board is restructuring its operations.
He said many businesses are struggling and chamber membership seems to be one of the things people can do without.
Volunteers, the board and members will have to carry out duties.
Waterman said the chamber of commerce is figuring out how much help it can count on.
