WATERVILLE -- Got electronic trash? Get rid of it via recycling.
The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with eWaste Recycling Solutions, will host a Universal Waste Recycling Day on June 5.
As a cost-saving strategy especially for area businesses, companies are urged to drop off unused electronics, batteries, florescent bulbs, ballasts, mercury-containing devices and other items for recycling.
The chamber will pay for the truck roll. Businesses pay only per piece.
Maine law states that it is illegal to store old and unused computer equipment, TV sets, ballasts, batteries and other devices containing heavy metals for more than one year.
