The Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce has changed its name to the Metro Atlanta Chamber.
“The ‘of Commerce’ is gone,” said Sam Williams, president of the Metro Atlanta Chamber, after his board meeting Thursday. “The board decided that there are a lot of things we do that are not done by traditional chambers of commerce. We work on public policy, advocacy and think tank issues.”
The name change was part of a branding effort that has been underway at the chamber for the past several months.
The group also passed a new slogan: “Bringing the best together to help Atlanta thrive” to reflect its new focus.
